Step Into a Deeper Study Experience

When you’re on a path of discipleship, the way you engage with Scripture matters. Dr. John Fallahee’s webinar on Logos Mobile gives you a hands‑on look at the app’s core tools—many of which are designed to help you grow in your knowledge of God and His Word.

1. Personalizing Your Reading Space

First, set View Settings once and let it stay in place. Drag the Text Size slider to a comfortable level, choose a font you love, and toggle Red Letter Text to see Jesus’ words in their original color. When the phone is on Dark Mode, the text is easier on the eyes during evening devotionals. View Settings panel

2. Building a Daily Reading Plan

Logos Mobile’s Reading Plans let you schedule Scripture passages for each day. Pick a plan that matches your schedule—whether it’s a one‑year book‑by‑book walk or a theme‑based series. Turning the plan on in View Settings will add a little bookmark icon next to each passage, so you can see your progress at a glance. Reading plans in Logos Mobile

3. Capturing Insights with Notes and Highlights

As you read, use the swipe‑to‑highlight feature to mark verses that speak to you. Then tap the highlighted text to bring up the Insight menu—this is where you can Note, Copy, and even launch a Word Study. Store these notes in a dedicated notebook named after the passage or theme, making it easy to revisit what you’ve learned later. Highlight and note feature

4. Deepening Understanding with Word Studies

When a word catches your eye, hold it to open the Word Study pane. You’ll see the original Hebrew or Greek, the Strong’s number, and a short definition. Swiping left or right jumps to the next word, letting you get a sense of how the passage reads in its original language. This tool is especially useful when you want to know why a particular verb or noun was chosen. Word Study pane

5. Using the Fact Book for Resources on the Go

The Fact Book is a hub for cross‑references, dictionaries, and cultural notes. From the Insights icon, tap “Fact Book” and search for a key concept—like “cross” or “faith”—to pull in a wealth of related resources. This quick lookup can enrich a sermon outline or your own study notes. Fact Book search

6. Crafting Sermon Manuscripts with Sermon Manager

If you’re preparing a message, the Sermon Manager lets you bookmark passages and add your own commentary. The Preach Mode provides a full‑screen view with a timer, so you can rehearse the pacing of each section. When you’re ready to deliver, switch to Preach Mode on the iPad or phone and let the text guide you. Sermon Manager preview

7. Organizing Study Sessions with Layouts

For deeper exegesis, the Split‑Window Layout lets you place a Bible passage side by side with a commentary, an exegetical guide, or a word study. Save the layout as “Bible + Commentary” and load it whenever you need a side‑by‑side comparison. This feature helps you see how a scholar interprets the same text that you’re reading. 8. Keeping Your Study Synchronised

All of your highlights, notes, and custom layouts sync across devices. When you finish a study on your phone, simply open the desktop version and pick up right where you left off. This consistency supports a continuous learning habit, no matter where you are. Sync across devices

By exploring these tools, you can transform Logos Mobile from a simple reading app into a companion for your discipleship walk—helping you know God’s Word more deeply, keep your heart focused on Scripture, and grow in confidence as you share what you learn.
